I'm desperate to be rid of Windows forever, but I have a fairly long list of things that are keeping me from it:
1) A multimedia presentation package called Opus Presenter.
2) A few favourite games, e.g. Worms.
3) HotSyncing my Palm PDA, including the ability to transfer MP3 files to its SD card for use with RealPlayer.
4) My scanner - Canon CanoScan 3000F - which doesn't work on Linux.
5) One of my printers - Lexmark P706 - which Linux doesn't support either.
6) Browsing my Local Area Network; something I've never managed to do successfully and consistently with any of the 3 Linux distributions I have used.

Elastomania worked on Wine last time I tried it.

M$ Flight Simulator 2002, X-Plane 7, Orbiter Flight Simulator, Transport Tycoon Deluxe (yeah, you read that)... I'm installing Wine at the moment of this writing so if Orbiter Sim and TTDX work fine, I'll be very happy... If only there could be an Open Flight Simulator... x-plane is great and is rumored to work on linux but I haven't given it a try yet...

Is it worth mentionning I have for over 1000$ worth of flight sim hardware? ;-P I wouldn't mind paying to get a nice looking simulator on Linux but I know the market isn't there yet...

I dont have dual boot but I do have a KVM switch with a windows box and a Linux box. The only reason i still use windows are games. If I was not a hardcore gamer I would not have a windows system. Oh yea, and I use a win98 system for a robot program that is only available for windows.

Just some games that dont have linux native versions and I've not set up Wine again yet. That and cd burning, but I'm hoping my new Mdk 10 install can help me with that. So a few hours of a month I'm in Win98, the rest is Mandrake 9.2. :)

Don't think I'll ever be a 100% WIndows Free user. If anything I'd like to get a MAC and add that to my computing network and have different OS's to work with.

Office, Photoshop can be run via CrossOver. Unreal Tournament has a native version.

Flightsim 2004, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, editing and
converting media files to WMV and Real Movie.

I've also put Image for DOS disk imaging software on a
Win ME boot floppy and can boot with it and burn compressed
disk images directly to a local CDRW. (that's kind of like using windows)

Hmm - windows is good for:

warcraft 3
Sonic Stage (burning music to minidisc)
http access to sites using Windows domain authentication

and lastly but not least, ...

filling up my harddisk, it is especially good at that :p

I just can't bring myself to removing the only OS on which the games I have purchased over the years run on. It would seem such a waste to me, though as for Windows itself - I have nonexistent desire to keep it. And family members use it, occasionally. (I have another box with windows only, but it boots slow due to XP and an old HDD)

I've tried Cedega/WineX, but most stuff just doesn't work or performs poorly compared to Windows.

But that's it. If game companies made a native Linux version, I'd have zero reason to boot into Windows.
