Drill holes into glass globe
 

I would like to drill holes into a glass globe.

The reason is because it contains a CFL bulb which does not tolerate high heat levels.

What are my options.

Buy glass drills. And kiss your glass globe goodbye as a precautionary measure...

Buy LED bulbs instead.

I like that idea more than the fan, less power and heat! ;)

Add: could even do color changing &c...

LED bulb is a good idea.

It does not generate the heat than a CFL does in an enclosed space.
