do you think that theres a chance that a video made by blender will end up in theatre

blender has come a long way after all it's tweaks and fixes and has become a very powerful 3d imaging and animation tool, why not use it for a full length movie? it be really cool if the open video project could do something like this

Movies are expensive to make. Blender has made a movie, but not a full movie. Look at Big Buck Bunny. That was made with blender. It took I think 1M dollars. Here is the official site

You should also have a look at Sintel, it is made with Blender, too.

both those short films (since their only 10 to 15 minutes long) are great, i liked sintel it had all the elements of a feature film in 15 minutes that's impressive. but i guess full length movies are expensive when it comes to the actors and sound effects (something that i think can be done without fancy commercial software as well) but with free tools it could make it cheaper to make and you gain more profit than you would using commercial software seems to be a great deal you still have to pay for the actors though
