Well, I work in the school here, and our computers are slow, some can cope some cant. But if i was doing video editing on a 300mhz machine i would be screaming blue murder because it takes to long.

Yes and No is really the answer. It depends on what your doing, inside the schooling program. 3d Rendering on anything less that a 900mhz machine takes way to long. I would say the lowest anyone one should go is maybe a 1 Gig, as long as its not a celeron machine.

ok, your right my math analogy was wrong, but so are you, you can teach typing, you cant teach someone to type quickly that comes from practice but you can make a shortcut by teaching them to type well, so a better analogy would be reading, you cant teach someone to read quickly and have a high rate of literacy any other way than starting with the basics and getting them to decode sets of symbols into auditory equivelants, from there you can tell them to practice and put resources in their hands but you cant teach them to read well, it only comes with practice over time, typing is the same, teach someone to type well and the rest is up to them they can practice and get better for their own sake or let it go, or you can give them incentives to reach 90wpm such as, "if you type at 90wpm I'll let you pass the class" although I would think 30wpm would be a sufficient requirement for a high school

i had to take typing in HS, and i'm glad i did. it's totally wrong to say that typing can't be taught, or that typing is something that can't be learned and coached like any other subject or physical activity or sport. if you had taken a typing class Pauli, your typing speed might now be 120wpm instead of only 90.
