I find blocking/stoping adverts very lame, almost funny. If you block adverts with your webbrowser, why not just make your T.V go off each time an advert comes on there??? can you imagine that....

generally speaking , it like under the curse of the demanding public ... actually very hard to survive and at the same time be rigorously honest and principled ...

//i did said is a bad trend in the long run anyway ...

//ofcause , things are not beyond repair as some would like to make believed ...

You can get TVs that can do that? Where? I want one!

Seriously, I would pay good money for a TV that would cut the volume each time the ads came on.

Are you using Firefox? You can download an extension called Flashblock, which replaces all Flash content with a "button" - click on it to view, or right click and choose the option to allow flash from a particular site. (Tools>Extensions>Get more extensions, iirc).

i have to say yes ... ever since i was young enough , especially sites that are selling things that we can purchase from ordinary stores on the ground ...

i think it was because of the buisness demand of more efficient and therefore more attractive on-line services that we have all sorts of "professionally" looking nonsense coming up in lightning speed and with ease ...

the internet now is really a land of wastes now ... in my opinion ...

.

you are confusing the Internet with the world wide web(WWW), the Internet is great but the WWW is not so great, though it is nice for somethings(like research etc).

alred 01-30-2007 10:32 AM

because of the internet that we have www or is it because of the www(probably the conception of it) that we have the internet in it current form ...

how about power current and somekind of cooker(or a 50" <insert modern terminology that everybody seems to understand here> tv) ?? ^_^

//i cant wait people start linking me to wikipedia and the like ...

Actually, I take that back. There have recently been some quite distracting ads from Splunk in the side-bar.

That ad is so annoying, I've added Flashblock to Mozilla specifically because it made my experience here annoying.

Try installing privoxy. All the bad stuff is just gone then.
