Did you get a PayPal reward ?

I got an e-mail from PayPal today that tells me I have a '$10 reward' that they will apply to the next qualifying transaction, automatically, I don't even have to apply it. I haven't used PayPal since 2019. Have you gotten one? Have you gotten more?

I use Paypal fairly regularly, mostly for certain online subscriptions, and I don't recall getting any such notification, but, if I had, I would have ignored it.

I have a very utilitarian view of Paypal. I use it when it suits me, keep track of my account on a regular basis, and ignore it otherwise.

Just my two cents.

I've had a paypal account for over 20 years but for the last few haven't even been able to login, and to request support, you have to login first. I've wasted hours of my life trying to figure it out. To get phone support you have to get a code you can only get by logging in, so calling doesn't help. Maybe I should just go down to their HQ sometime and demand support, I live nearby....

enigma9o7, that's very disturbing. I've never had a problem logging into Paypal.

In fact, I just logged in to make sure my login is still working.

I could have ignored it too and still gotten the $10 reward. I speculate that they offered it to me because I haven't used it for so long.

Log in? I haven't done that in years. I can't remember ever needing support.

No, and I have received a recent email from paypal. I received one about a month ago from paypal about $5.00 off if I shop at columbia and use paypal

Are you sure it is from paypal. I do get an occasional email about my paypal account needs to be fixed, at first glance looks like it is from paypal, but not.

I received the same offer, but ignored it.
I closed the account many, many years ago so, IMHO, it just may be a scam of some sort to get your personal information. I'm not going to pursue it to find out.

I think you can use the email account you registered with PP when you setup the account to create a new password?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I have to log into Paypay whenever I want to use Paypal to pay for something.

It looks legitimate. Plus it doesn't ask for any information, just tells me that if I make a PayPal purchase it will be applied.

I sure as hell would not click on any link supplied in that email.

No. No 10 dollar emails here. I buy motorcycle parts regular like on my pay pal account. Rock Auto parts for the truck and car.

Save tons of dollars that way. Gas is getting expensive.

I didn't have to click on any link. It worked: I got $10 off on a torque wrench. I did nothing other than pay for it with PayPal. I forgot about it until last night, remembered it expired at the end of a year, bought a thermometer for my freezer, but it didn't apply. I logged into PayPal for the first time in years. Conditions for the offer include denominated in USD, which the thermometer wasn't. The torque wrench was. The reward was applied automatically. From the community fora I can see they've been distributing these for the last 3 years, at least. They seem to be an incentive to recruit inactive members. It was less convenient than paying with credit so it won't work on me.

I get them quite often. Mostly for $5, but also $10. The most recent was yesterday.

I have logged in to my account an looked around for this reward offer until recently (Dec 5th) I never found this reward. On Dec 5th I found a reward. I claimed it, they wanted me to put it in my bank account. I also had the choice to keep in my PayPal wallet. That's the choice I made. I do not have PayPal linked my my bank. Right now they want to give me a reward for getting their App. I will pass on that.

The reward I'm talking about didn't require claiming, didn't require that I do anything other than use PayPal to make a purchase in USD. When I logged in I saw rewards for getting their app, linking my bank account, getting a PayPal credit card... - nothing I wanted to do: they're different.
