Desktop Restriction

Hello Sir,

I want to restrict to store the data in desktop. (Windows 2000 Professional Machine)

I have set read only permission in C:\ drive.

But the datas are stored in desktop. How to restrict?.

Whether it is possible. How?

Thank You

A.Kannan

There's five ways I can think of: using a PE LiveCD (crude), using a third pary application (costly), set some obscure registry settings (dunno which ones), change ownership/attributes for each users desktop dir (doesn't scale well) or use local or group policies (does scale). Of course I don't know sh*t about policies or the MICROS~1 Game Console in general, so if nothing else turns up resources like ntsecurity, labmice, kbalertz, SANS, CERT or the vendors site should have all sorts of policy templates and information for you to play with.

I have set read only permission in C:\ drive.
Better undo that.
