Definitive Guide to Life suggestions

My most recent project is to go from forum to forum asking people what their opinions are on things like life, poverty, liberty, the afterlife, and stuff like that. My nomadic tendencies have brought me here to your wonderful site.

I will be plucking the best responses out of cyberspace and putting them on a new website.

Make sure to follow all forum rules in your posts, but any thoughts are welcome. Sarcasm is encouraged.

December 25, 1979 by Michio Kushi from the preface of his book How to See Your Health-

Knowing is the beginning of Freedom. The Art of knowing is the art of realizing freedom.
All suffering comes from Ignorance:
Ignorance of what I am, Ignorance of who I am, of What We Are.
The art of knowing is the opening of the secret of life, And a path for Health, Happiness and Eternal Life.

Live long, and prosper. Should be the title of the compilation :-). Seriously, or at least one of the "chapter" titles

This turns out to be a better idea than I thought. ;)

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom"
Proverbs 9:10

so... the bible.
Because God compiled the wisdom of the world in one book so we wouldn't have to spend our entire lives searching for it. (thoughtful or what, eh?). Wisdom for every situation.

(If you _do_ disagree with me, please be polite :-) ).

"The only possible sin lies in hurting other people unnecessarily. All other 'sins' are invented nonsense. Hurting yourself isn't sinful, just stupid."
That depeneds firstly on whether our bodies are our own to hurt if we choose to, and secondly whether hurting ourselves really won't have any impact on anyone else: often it can.
