datacenters for couchbase

Hello,

I am very newbie to web development and know little about large scale websites but I would like to know how is it possible to have a high scale website without building our own datacenter (with our own equipment) and rather using a datacenter which offers data hosting.
I want for my site to use Couchbase and would like to know how is it possible to connect my website to a datacenter which will store unlimited couchbase data.
Does anybody know any datacenter that does that?
I hope that I ask something that has a right answer. I would be very pleased if anyone could in few words describe how big sites work, and how is it possible to make one.
I really apologize if my question is wrong but I would really need to know how is it possible to have a big web site working globally.

Thank you.
