Cygwin question: Less no longer highlights when searching for text

I recently updated Cygwin x64 after having the same installation for years. (Windows 10). I noticed that Less (successor to More) no longer highlights the text which I searched for. Is there a replacement? Or how do I get Windows 10/Cygwin/Less to highlight the string/regex which I searched for? It's easier to find it when highlighted.

I don't use Cygwin, but I do use MSYS2, and less in Mintty highlights search results just as fine as on Linux.

Perhaps something is wrong with your Mintty settings? What is the output of echo $TERM?

BTW, Cygwin/X should also provide xterm as a package.

Try changing the terminal name in Mintty options dialog to just xterm.
