how do i copy a map or file with putty ?

Hi,

With putty, you should have other exec... and one is "pscp", use it ;)

That said: it's exactly that - if you used the putty installer you'll
have a command-line tool called pscp as well. Putty itself doesn't
have a copying-interface.

Or just download and install WinSCP to use scp or sftp from Windows to Linux.
