Quite possible. I routinely make mistakes My interpretation was that you think President Trump's legislation will improve policing conditions while I think it's a bandaid at best with little effect. Not so?

I am just grinning from going from a amour-ed tank toting Texas overfunded Police State to a under funded police state,

forum stereotypes need to get their brains wired in right. Police Chief < retired > enjoying getting his boy off dwi charges while enjoying confiscated drug seizure property that is also a given here.

LOL.

Even if Trump's proposals are considered a "bandaid"; his attempt to propose something far exceeds the non-action (and even outright obstructionism) of Democrats. Democrats have repeatedly asserted "that no one is above the law". Yet when it comes to enforcing the law they take no action (physical and/or verbal). One can easily conclude that the Democrats, through both their silence and their inaction are tacitly giving the rioting and looting a "green light" which is effectively endorsing continued violence.

Just FTR Steve R. my comment was NOT a Left vs/ Right thing. It was not a sweeping generalization. I don't hate President Trump. I do think he lacks training for the job but despite that I have publicly, here in LQN, given him high marks for his relatively early action on Covid 19 and shook my head over how many Democrats behaved early on. I have to work at it because I am pretty severely dismayed by both the Democratic Party and Republican Party. I'd very much like to see a lot more focus on what's right for the US and some collaboration and negotiation rather than being solely concerned with Party Politics. It's pretty crazy and sad on both sides in my view, but then politically I'm closest to old school Libertarian.

If you were writing a comedy, you could not do better.

That is hilarious... but it might also be rather crafty. I dunno but it is hard for me to imagine that anyone actually wants to disband The Police...after all that band broke up ages ago! OK... OK.. sorry couldn't resist but I'm sure you know what I mean. I'd like to think defunding is not actually in earnest but rather just a demonstration of power, a "You'd better take this seriously since first and foremost you are supposed to be public servants and we in effect write your paychecks". IOW, typical political maneuvering.

Political maneuvering, all!
Despite the dissimilitude, can the US be at its Tiananmen Square?
