They "tried" to but I don't think they succeeded.

My favorite quote from the hearing was from Ted Lieu to Iowa Congressman Steve King:

in europe and all over the world, official criticism of google is increasing. google definitely has to respond to that (at least in the case of EU). things are definitely happening. just an example. |
This seems tangentially related to trustworthiness: The EFF has published an article on the creepiest privacy-invading tech gadgets of this holiday season.

Just a quibble. This hearing was in the House of Representatives, not the Senate.
I think that Senators would likely not have called such a hearing during a lame duck (for persons not in the U. S., that means the election has happened, but the newly elected Congress has not yet been seated) session, and, had they done so, they would have been a lot better prepared than the clown--er--persons who called this hearing. |
Given that google's search engine is the default on apple's default browser (safari), I thought that the google ceo got away lightly when he asserted that the query about search results on an apple device should be directed to apple.
OK |
what you see on a google search results page is determined by what what other people clicked on it there searches
so what makes the results lean right or left is determined by what most other people clicked on what it comes downed to is most people lean to the left nothing could piss off the teabager types more than confronting the fact that they are out of line with of how most people really think |
