Hey, i have never tried linux once, even on a friends computer. But i want to learn about it.... i've used windows for 7years..... im 14 now. Want to get into something else. need to know what sort of set up is perfect for linux...do i need a special chip like windows? stuff like that. im not ur normal 14 year old. i done VB, delphi, php, mysql and shit. give me mah ideal set up and what i need from scratch........i have a budget of £600 at the most...but would love if a cheap old £100 thing wood do to get the basics?
mandrake installer takes care of that ... just don't erase your windows partition, and you will have windows on your harddrive and set as an option when you boot your machine ...
Do you mean the CPU? You can use a Intel, pentium or an amd processor, If thats what you mean all you need is a PC thats fairly new, if youve got one now with windows you can install Linux and dual boot with both so you have the option of running one or the other when your computer starts.
