Compaq DeskproEN Cooling question.
I just picked up a DeskproEN from the landfill, Celeron 500, but with no CPU heatsink or fan. I was going to install a heatsink and fan on it, but there is no place to plug a cpu fan in. However, right next to the cpu is a system fan, so would just a plain heatsink be good enough?
Thanks, Noah |
Better, get one of the molex->fan power connector adapters for like $3 at most computer stores.

Sweat getting computs from teh lanfill that is the greatist. I wounder if I could find someting.
I agree just get teh adapter to be on the safe side. |
If you think a celeron 500 is sweet, my main system is an athlon 1.3, built from my friends garbage pile, the landfill, and a garage sale.

Where so you live I want to go there. My main is a 2.4 ghz but my back up is the computer my parents just replaced, which is a HP 166. Man a garage sale that actualy has half way decent PC parts.

I just went the computer shop and they gave a heatsink and fan
