I was wondering if anyone can recall some weird movie they have seen that is considered a classic, like Jaws or something.
Mine is Army of Darkness, by far one the strangest of all movies, but funny. I saw it again last night for like, my 20th time since I was a little girl. I love so many parts in it. Saddly, I cant seem to get any of my other friends to like it as much as me. I guess I am just sick.
Has anyone here seen it? What about any others strange movies?
Army of Darkness was very funny. Isn't it the 3rd part of the Evil Dead trilogy? or did I make that up?
Let's see, weird movie that's considered a classic. How 'bout Rocky Horror Picture Show? that's weird, although it's not very good. In fact I hated it.
There's also Harold and Maude. That ones just plain out gross. Weird teenage kid and Old lady, I'll let you put 2 and 2 together. No visuals during the movie just implied. That might be the wierdest movie I've seen.
I've seen too many movies, they all run together now...... That's what working at a video store for 2 yrs will do to someone
ok then weird film people. I saw some of this film being projected on a wall at a club, and i'm busting to know what it is...
it was a kinda Dune-like archaic sci-fi, and had Ian Holm in it, and there were these people / robots that looked just like Warhammer Space Marines (if you know what they are), all line up in a big yellow stone hangar like building i think. and at the topof the rows was a statue in the shape of an egyptian coffin, and it's kinda plain and basic, but the camera move in towards it and tracks over the top, and on the top is a screaming face staring up at the sky.
Well, that's the bigget bit i can remember... any takers?
i thought of the 5th element too... but i would have remembered either bruce willis or gary oldman instead of ian holm... (who the heck is he? damn swiss-cheese memory...)
the first movie i thought of when i read this thread was time bandits - but all i actually remember about the movie is that strange part where they're hanging in a cage over nothing, and the parents exploding or dissolving or something like that at the end. i also remember being really creeped out by that movie... but don't remember why.
Time Bandits and Army of Darkness are both killer classic weird movies. I can't say I can think of any others at the moment, but if you ever wanna talk about killer 80's classics, you have no further to look than Weird Science or Dreamscape. Oooo Dragon Slayer and of course, Clash of the Titans! That's a killer classic, what effects! LOL
Ah, come-on. The alltime greatest weird film has to be 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Weird Science and Dragon Slayer were also top films. Thanks for the reminder, Malicious, I'll have to dig out my copies of them.
