First off, for the mods, no - this isn't an advertisement.
Second off, considering my recent quest for another monitor, I agonized whether to post this in the success stories section.
Now, for the meat of the post.
Would you believe that I managed to get a very, very good quality 19" monitor for five (5) bucks today? Out of a stack of about 25 other monitors?
I'm in a very good mood. It didn't come with a power cable, but since I'm a packrat that didn't bother me. I'm stingy, and didn't relish putting out over a hundred dollars for another screen large enough to suit me.
I'm not going to make jokes about it - I've grown up with WM and have been helped before. Still, would be nice to find more computers there - a few months ago, there happened to be at least ten computers for sale at $50 a pop with none under a Pentium III. Good Linux computers. Too bad I didn't get any.
Now, my next project - Internet sharing between computers.
It's too bad they're hard to find... And the fact that LCDs are hard to resist doesn't help either ;P. But I mean, 19" widescreen LCD, 200$-250$ for a nice one. Equiv. Trinitron = 50$-100$ used but in good condition.
There's just one problem with them, I think it applies to all Trinitrons... Has like a weird effect sometimes where it randomnly shrinks/expands for a few seconds, like it's twitching, when you turn it on/off... o.o

This is my third Trinitron - I got it for that reason. Now, as far as the shrink/expand, I have not yet seen that.
I'm thinking that this particular CRT is one that some office worker got rid of when the budget allowed him/her to get a LCD or a 21" or something like that. No cracks, picture is sharp and clear, no distortions . . . I'll stop bragging now!
