Cavalier, Windstream and Verizon

When I choose my ISP; Cavalier they explained that Verizon is their main source of power. I was ok with that but it took almost 3 weeks to get service. Never was told why- Anyway:

Cavalier was taken over by a company called Windstream.
Before that it was Pentech and who knows what it was before then-

The last time my internet service went down it was a quick fix to just unplug the modem and reset everything. But this has happened 4-5 times now again within the last 6 months.

I'm not familiar with a server so I'm wondering what folks here think-

Is it Cavaliers server getting overloaded and going down or Verizon's?

Just trying to get why this keeps happening and if others have had much of the same thing going on?

Still no real answer so I have decided to leave this be and chalk it up to 'the mysterious'

I did take the time to read the Cavalier Connection Message Board and apparently I am not the only one that all of the sudden w/o reason loose my internet connection.

Maybe someone wrecked into a telephone poll?
