They smell, they have very sharp claws and teeth, and can be quite ill-mannered.
They only eat the leaf from one type of tree, so if you can't grow that tree in your back yard, then you'll have to import it. Since you are importing a plant, you'll need to deal with gubberment agencies, which cost time and money, etc., etc., etc.
Get a goldfish. If they die, you flush it and get another one.
Yeah, koala bears are very hard animals to maintain. That one leaf that they can eat only grows in that one specific part of Australia and cannot be grown anywhere else, they have tried it. Too bad they are like cutting and burning down that forest with that tree for developmental and population growth. That sucks for the koala bear, they are pretty cool mammals.
Hey why not like donate money to save them, then you can say that you don't own them, but your saving the species from extinction.
Originally posted by tjmm koala bears are funny. they have "bear" in their name, but they are marsupials, not mammals. haha. dumb koala bears.
<rainman>Nyeah, definitely marsupial. Marsupial they are. Ran over one on the way to work the other day. A marsupial that is, but not a Koala Bear. It was a kangaroo. Not worth a hundred dollars. Not a hundred dollars. </rainman>
They're both. Just as cows are both ruminants and mammals, so koalas are both marsupials and mammals. Obviously there is no connection between koalas and cows, but what if there were...?
yep, their pouch is what makes them a marsupial, just like a kangaroo. actually there is a connection between them, just like everything is made up of the same when it all comes down to it. we all creeped out from the water at one point, well, just a theory. i will shut up now.
lets stop talking about koala's and talk about penguins, what is a penguin, they don't necessarily have feathers but do have like fur, so they can't be a bird, but look like one, i might be wrong though, and they can't fly but they swim.....there are some weird things living here.
heck yeah
the authorities on "bird classification" need to get this clear....just like penguins, kiwis don't really have feathers...or do they. it looks like they have spikes. and they're flightless and are considered birds. dumb birds.
the government would probably stop you, or some environmentalist might bomb your house or something(of course they would probably "save" the koala first)
Originally posted by Copenhagen Cowboy I can't believe this thread is actually still going on. Don't we probably have more pressing matters to talk about??
Yeah! Like Survivor, who will win the World Series, and the dreaded Hollywood writer's strike.
You know, all these 'Save The Koalas' action-groups could put their resources to good use! If you really wanted to save a species from extinction, you should give them well paid jobs - that way they could benefit from modern society and would not want to live in areas currently being de-forested, or whatever.
