As for ice cream, I'm pretty much a Breyers loyalist, since I'm too lazy to make my own.

I also laugh every time I read the label of their products and they all say "Gluten Free". I doubt if it is gluten as such that is necessary for health. Our paleolithic ancestors ate mostly meat, green plants and roots, with perhaps a little bit of wild grain in late summer. They did very well without gluten. The main argument against the gluten-free craze is that it is a total waste of money for non-coeliacs. Any health risks associated with "clean eating" are more likely to be due to the lack of vitamins and minerals that whole grains supply.
