burner phone number without my name

anyone know where to get a burner phone number that is not associated with my name in any way. this would be for things like classified ads online and such. a big issue would be how to pay for it. i might need one of those online services that pass money to a third party without your payment info or name.

Tracfone:

https://www.tracfone.com/

You can buy the phone at places like Walgreens and it comes with a card for X amount of minutes. You can buy refill cards at many places as low as $20 and just reload the phone. Your name is never associated with it.

Buy a 5g phone if you buy one. My old one is no good now because it's not 5g.

Wonder if some of those VoIP gizmos can do that also?

Can't you use Google Voice or Skype (or some other service (Signal?)) to create 'throwaway' phone numbers like this as well? I know at some point in the past you could, for the exact reason(s) specified in the original post - single-use anonymous numbers for online classifieds or personal ads. If you don't need a phone # specifically, I know there are a variety of one-time-use email services that do this, and I believe some of them can receive SMS too.

If that doesn't work, I agree with just buying a pay-as-you-go phone - you can pay cash if you're really worried (but it sounds more like you just don't want your personal details on Caller ID or so, not that you're trying to be 'off grid').

that and i don't want phone providers to know, either. so that rules out Google and Skype. i once had Skype but i had to give my name. long ago i could send money to people anonymously with Western Union. i'd give them cash and name who it was for and where. i think there was a code word, too. that person could pick up the money. i think they had to show ID if i didn't. there was a low limit that made it impractical for big money laundering and big drug deals. i wonder if that might be doable with the internet, somehow. obviously, the cash part would need to be offline.

Um, why not just use a prepaid SIM card?
These have been a thing in every country I went to in the past 20 years or so.

Including internet access.

Unless you have further/different requirements, then you should clarify that.

maybe a combination of the SIM and a random phone could work. the phone ID is still there with a different SIM, so that (alone) would not fully isolate it. multiple SIMs and one phone could be used. then if any gets compromised, burning them all would not be as costly.

the goal is absolute total isolation.

interesting way to do SMS for those just needing to do verifications. those could be useful. but i need to be able to send as well. also, i might need to use the exact same number a week later.

If you just need an account to verify your identity for something like joining a forum, or sending your ex a faux love letter, there are temp email boxes, too. That's the best I can do:

i already have a few fake email boxes, but it's always nice to have a couple new places like these. i have a few domain names set to receive email with any LHS. one of them gets an average of 20 spams a day, many duplicates to many "users".
