Bridged networking on Guest VISTA fails

I've tried the vmware forums but can't get a reasonable answer.

Just wondering if anyone has tried and got this workinh here. It's probably a vmware / Windows problem but I'll post anyway just in case.

Vmware Workstation Beta 6 running on SUSE 10.2 as a HOST and VISTA as Guest. Can't use Bridged networking (i.e the VM and the Host share files, Internet / LAN connections etc via the HOST's network and IP address).

NAT works fine but I don't want to use this for the VM as I wan't to restrict the range of IP addreses that have access to the external In ternet.

Cheers

ok, well going back to basics, can you see ip packets on the guest? on the host's vm bridge interface? do the virtual nics report to be up? what drivers are you using... try the other one of the two under windows. do you have any interesting arp entries on host or guest?
