boot virus

trend chipaway boot virus protection informs me that the OS (Suse 9.2 pro) is not supported. i can get past it and into kde using a boot floppy, but still need to know how to rid my computer of this virus infecting my boot. Are there any easy solutions?

ps, also getting message saying "CMOS batt low", is that a seperate problem? do i need a new battery for my mboard?

thnx.

Have you tried disabling the virus protection? It's probably expecting a windows bootloader and getting confused that there's a linux one there instead.

Yes, the boot virus protection thing doesn't recognise the boot loader so it thinks there is a virus, just disable it in the BIOS. I wouldn't have though that the Low Battery status is anything to do with the virus thing. You can get a battery from anywhere that sells watch spares
