best Linux download for Vista
 
:scratch: Finally got a PC (windows vista). looking for help in deciding what Linux to try that works best from CD as I'm still a loser.:scratch: :scratch:

Anotherwords you want a LiveCD? Check out: Ubuntu (LiveCD iso), Knoppix, Slax...there are a lot more. Go to distrowatch.com to see most of them, or do a search for liveCDs here.

Ubuntu will send you free CDs in the mail. Same thing for Kubuntu if you'd rather get started with a KDE desktop.

If a speedy download is a priority, either buy the CD from an online store, or do a Debian Netinstall. (But it's a bit tough, and you need to know your stuff.)

That's a quiz. I can't find the Zendnet one. (Wasn't it Zendnet? All I can remember is the PidginIM icon, and the green panels & carboard box)
