Rubbish. I dual boot and run both Windows 10 and Debian Sid on one of my laptops and Windows takes longer to boot, longer to start the desktop, longer to update, takes up more memory and applications rub slower. From what I've read from others this is to be expected.
True, with "fast boot" enabled and other such things Windows may be made to boot faster than it does, and possibly faster than Linux but by default it most certainly does not.
There are advantages to using Windows (mainly with program and device support) but being quicker isn't one of them and never has been. With Poetering messing around not causing any discernable change to the operation of mine or many other's systems.
You may not like the philosophy or even the design of systemd but it is ridiculous to suggest that suddenly this makes Linux into a poor Windows clone.

Reason: Removed silly analogy.

Complaining about poor defaults in a Linux forum amuses me.

Right. Why would I want to call the kernel of an "OS" whose "contributors" happily turn every Microsoft GUI change into a KDE commit a "poor Windows clone"? Those are totally different!!111!
I suspect that this might be a result from the mass of Windows refugees who came here because the FUD and lies Linuxers usually spread about Windows though. I personally remember a lot of questions revolving around how to make Linux "more Windows-ish". Don't you?

Not complaining about poor defaults -- I prefer the default as it's more sensible when updating. "fast boot" is fine if you're into rebooting your PC every 5 minutes but overly complicated otherwise -- much like hibernation in that respect.
I'm confused -- what has KDE got to do with Linux as an OS?
Really can't tell whether you're trolling or just ranting generally because you're annoyed with certain things in the GNU/Linux world. If you actually do want to use Linux and truly are just annoyed with Poetering, the KDE developers or whoever then you're not really doing anything to help matters just coming out with the posts you are. Of course, you're free to post anything you like, and I wouldn't have it any other way, but you'd be better off just getting rid of Linux and ignoring the community you don't, apparently, like. Just use Windows, you're free to do so, you know, provided you paid for it.
You are aware of KDE's actual heritage and primary ecosystem, right?

No, I don't.

The example of KDE was an answer to your false claim that nothing in Linuxland tries to poorly clone Windows. Especially the X/Wayland thingy does, except those groups which try to poorly clone macOS (with GNOME and its numerous forks) instead.

No, I have not paid for it. In fact, I have not paid for a full Windows license since the early 2000s. Turns out that computers mostly come with it. Surprise!
