I think Kenny needs to chill a bit in his zeal for google chrome. We all know how you like it BUT it is NOT for everyone. I for example don't care for the cloud computer idea at all. A lot of my apps are things that don't require being online which from what I understand is where Google shines. Does it come with such things as Open Office, Devede,K3b, or a multitude of other programs? Not likely as it is designed for networking.

Ok, I get it that you did make another windows vs linux thread.
I would like to have less pages of discussion on a topic, though ..I don't know why, it's a deep feeling.
Anyways, it's cool that i actually customized the forum to my liking , and as Mozilla Firefox says: "one size doesn't fit all"

personally, I'm used to firefox. I tried chromium, opera and konqueror and other web browsers, but I'm always coming back to firefox. Just plain used to it.
As for cloud computing. Not for me. No siree bob.
I rather have access and control to my files myself.

yeah i know firefox is awesome and with a few plugins *lol rather more>20 for me sir*
is the best makes web experience awesome .. hope to see better improvements with 4.0 out and be all my addons comptaible with it!
i keep them synchronized with Siphon (which is still beta)
but anyways , as good as firefox might be , we're not talking about browsers but Operating Systems here..
when he said chrome he was definitely referring to chrome os.. which IMO is pretty much useless... how the heck are you suposed to download big files on that thing and then transfer them with some UI , given it doesn't let you do anything else but use google chrome for internet browsin' ...
when he said chrome he was definitely referring to chrome os..
yeah, my bad
Perhaps Chrome OS suits all his needs.
I admit I spend the majority of my time on the web as well. But I wouldn't want chrome to be my main OS. I do alot of stuff locally on my computer as well.
The idea of an instant-on web OS on a tablet or netbook is a good niche, but not everyone is going to like it unless it suits all their needs.

I hate windows but i love photoshop. I also hate wine.. and gimp is good but inferior to photoshop.
I hate vmware and the likes. So i have a windows pc only for using photoshop. That makes me hate adobe for not a releasing a linux version. They dont have to make the source open, just let me use photoshop with linux dammit.
On another note i hate windows because it seems to find all my devices and dongles faster and easier than linux, but it has to reboot 14 times before i can use them. And when im finally ready to use them windows decides to reboot itself because of automatic update was running secretely in the background. It usually happens while im in the middle of a chat or if im downloading something. Did i mention that i dont like windows?
