Banned from Lattepanda forums, worry about it or not?

So I was going to rant about SBC computers in general but I decided that would not be fair. I had an entire essay typed up about my disappointment in SBCs in general. Maybe I will save that for later. It was fun to write.

I was banned from the Lattepanda forums after making a couple of posts. One about how to save power and one announcing my Mobile Internet Device. As for as I can tell nothing was against the rules and I received no warnings of any kind.

I have to admit that being a proud American I am not subject to any of their esoteric Chinese censorship laws. Just as well because the information of their forum was low brow at best.

I had no plans to continue any further posts. The information there was lacking at best.

I noticed that the ban page links to "contact a forum moderator". I had composed a rage post but it would not send because I needed to be logged in. Maybe for the best.

Should I not be worried about it? Or should I pursue reinstatement in the course of justice?

If you think the "information of their forum was low brow at best", then why bother with it? From what I saw on it's index page, it seems it isn't a very popular forum.

While it's rules weren't easy to find, the only one based on what you say that I can see being applicable here would be the one below, but it does say you'll get a warning, so since you didn't, well that seems strange to me. The only answer I could give without seeing what you actually posted would be that; they might have considered both of your posts there as "spam", and therefore felt that just banning you was more appropriate instead.

From https://www.lattepanda.com/topic-f5t366.html?start=20

Quote:
- Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation etc. Recruiting members for your own projects (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.
Did they actually give you any reason in this "ban page" ?

While they don't seem to have a hell of a lot of rules/guidelines, the rule/guideline posted above does seem a tad restrictive to me.

They might not have liked the fact that your images were flipped wrong.

(Serious answer: I have no idea why they banned you, but if you did that here you'd be banned here too).

A friendly piece of advice - get over yourself. This is exactly the kind of attitude that gets people taken away by the police in other countries, I've seen it happen. Your protestations that you are an American, a citizen of the free world, mean nothing. In fact to some people it's even offensive.

Yes, take them to court. Because that's not an overreaction at all.

if being able to post to this forum is so important to you, the usual course is to create a new account and not repeat your earlier mistakes.

You should worry about it, and you should pursue reinstatement in the course of justice.

You should sue GitHub too.

Pointing out someone's ridiculous ideas is not bullying, saying something another doesn't like isn't bullying, having a different opinion isn't bullying. If anything, we are giving OP some old-fashioned life-advice albeit in a rather sarcastic way: doing such points out the fallacies in his arguments, provides balance and perspective and hopefully injects some mild humour into the topic that will give him something to think about. He did ask.

It's otherwise, in the vernacular, known as a 'reality check'. Don't be so quick to lay the 'bullying' card, it diminishes genuine bullying, which is a very serious thing.

It's easy for forums to be mean or less than polite or even rude or bullying. I haven't seen one that doesn't have some problem. It seems that humans have a flaw that lets them speak differently online than they do in person. Maybe in person they might get their eye dotted.

If I did want to be on that site then I'd contact the mod's or root to see how well or poorly you have been treated.

It never helps to rant. Although I enjoy it a lot.

While I generally agree with you; I don't see how anyone responding to this thread was "bullying" anyone. The way I see it, the OP asked the question, and members responded with comments relevant to the thread. Yes, some of those comments may have been blunt, but to my way of thinking; bullying is quite another thing.

So I think it's yet another case of one member misinterpring what others have said. And to blanketly accuse all "senior members" posting in this thread of "bullying", is quite poor to say the very least.

jsbjsb001 my reply was to the OP, not sure what you are reading or I don't understand what you interpret.

I made a general statement about online forums. I have been on some that were very difficult to maintain civil conversation.
Then my comment was about a possible solution to the OP.
Lastly, I tried to make a joke son. (in the Foghorn Leghorn tone)

The OP stated this. "Banned from Lattepanda forums" "that the ban page links to "contact a forum moderator"" and "should I pursue reinstatement in the course of justice"

Same here, and yes, that's what I thought.

Sorry for the misunderstanding jefro. I wasn't trying to be funny, I was on my phone when I replied, so it was easier to quote your whole post rather than just some of it. I know you were only joking in the last sentence of your reply. I just thought as dugan said you were responding to galen's post.
