Back again--now with a Chromebook

I have a long rap sheet here, but have been absent for a long time.
Excuses: I'm old, I spend most of time fixing vintage radios, and Linux is so good that I never need help. (Pick two... )

I notice there is a ChromeOS sub-forum, but with no activity. Should I put up the first question, or is there now a better place?

Currently running Linux Mint--Debian Edition** plus 2 Chromebooks (one is mostly for the cat watching bird video....)

**terrible distro, but that's another story

I think there's no activity at the moment because there used to be a separate forum for ChromeOS. It got neglected and filled up with spam so Jeremy closed it in favour of the in-house one. It would probably be doing a favour if you started some posts there.

There are a few posts about chromebooks, but most are about replacing ChromeOS with a real Linux distro - it's what I have done.

Nice thread I used

https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=42545

Been flogging mine for so long I am wearing out the ssd. Good thing I got Broke one < chromebook > on standby with good ssd replacement. Write protect bios jumper broken on it is why I call it broken.

It runs Ubuntu XFCE minimal via the crouton method on it. Hardly fire it up though. Specs on this one which runs antiX like a regular laptop. It flies fast.

I'm sure you can post it on the ChromeOS sub-forum, and that it's the best place.
At least I use LQ in such a way that I look at a list of all new posts.
You could also post it on one of the more general Linux sub-forums (after all ChromeOS still uses a Linux kernel).

But I truly hope you are planning on installing a full-time real GNU/Linux on that machine?
