Audigy Sound card not working in Windows XP
Help me guys! I can't figure this one out. I uninstalled a Gravis gamepad (connected to the Audigy gameport) using the Add/Remove feature in Windows XP. It uninstalled and I rebooted. Next thing you know, my sound card isn't working. I removed the soundcard from the Device Manager and rebooted. I let Windows reinstall the drivers automatically for me and it shows up as normal in the Device Manager, however, I still have no sound and it is as if there is no sound card drivers installed when I run the Creative Diagnostic test. It shows a FAIL for the Wave Driver, MIxer Driver, and DirectSound. I can only think of one thing that will fix this: REINSTALL WINDOWS XP, and that is something I don't want to do.
Oh yeah, and the sound card works fine when I watch TV in Windows XP with my TV card and it works fine in my Linux.
Check that it's not set to always produce digital output (it's something along those lines anyway, I'm not on my computer so I can't check). On mine that meant it only worked for certain things.

The creative labs people got back to me and told me that when I uninstalled the Gravis game pad, Windows XP may have reassigned my virtual IRQ to one that is conflicting. I don't know what that means exactly, but they told me to try moving my sound card to another PCI slot and removing other PCI devices. What a pain! I will try this and report back.
