Actually, I would disagree with you on this one. China probably does not really care about Korea too much, except that the northern half is ruled by an idiot. Eventually, the Play button will have to be pushed, somehow officially ending the frozen, nearly sixty-year-old "state of war" without completely re-igniting it, and somehow stopping the idiot.

Yes, reunification would be a nightmare since the North has been frozen in time for half a century. But that just means that the necrotic rot is closest to your border. It's obvious that this kid is himself being ruled by military old-farts who probably were "eager young soldiers" in the 1950's. And now he's playing with missiles.

As much as NK might dream of "the glorious war" starting up again, it wasn't worth fighting then and it most-certainly isn't worth fighting now.

Well the PRC is obviously in a precarious position due to Kim himself, as he is the one constantly rocking the boat so-to-speak. Unfortunately because of the Hermit Kingdom all we can do is speculate - and it is obvious that not even the PRC can do much to reign in the crazy at times.

What if we have a nuclear war
Surviving a nuclear war I'll be fine I'll just duck-and-cover,...Oh, wait.

It all sounds like such a blast......We'll all have a blast

Actually the southern hemisphere would not be affected theoretically, New Zealand is listed as one of the places to go - and Australia isn't that far away:

While WWIII is assumed to be among the bigger guys, there are always the little fires burning all around the world that could also get out of control - and take the world with it. Remember the first two WWs started out as 'smaller fires' too in a way.
