search tools are useful. For example: somebody tells me a file I have to edit in Linux, but his distro has it in a diffrent folder than my distro, and I try to find it by myself, because I like trying out various distros, and most of the times I won't remember where each and every config file is.

But, "find" is enough. No fancy stuff is needed.

Hey, that reminds me:

Windows 95/98's "Search" function could find files, and Flo even has a GPL/BSD re-write, why the need to reinvent the wheel?
