Anyone know where I could find out about Extremely High Data Consuming software?

About a year ago I was on a site I found through google pictures, and it showed something like 10 pieces of software that consumed extremely high amounts of data. Like one was a model of a lung and it took something like 2 terabytes a second of information. I could be wrong I don't remember, but I remember a long, I just don't remember how much data it consumed. Does anyone know of this site, or know of a page that shows extrememly high data consuming software? I would like to show my cousin and uncle it since it intrigued them so much. Thanx in advance!

The Top 500 Supercomputers list would be a good place to start looking for such projects.
Obviously most of the top supercomputers aren't dedicated to one particular purpose but usually themed around complex physics simulation projects.

You may be interested in the Japanese Earth Simulator project which runs on the 4th most powerful supercomputer on the planet.
NASA's website is good at explaining some of the kind of things they do with their mega processing power (currently ranked No.3 in the Top 500 list)

Interestingly the Earth Simulator is the only supercomputer in the top 10 that doesn't run Linux as it's core OS.
