Any recommended BIOS virus detectors out there?

Can anyone recommend an antivirus/detection program to scan one's BIOS?

Thanks

I would suggest reflashing your BIOS from an image downloaded from the vendor's website.
I may be wrong but I've a feeling that BIOS virus detection is almost impossible. The other side of this, of course, is that BIOS viruses are rare and generally targeted rather than something you'd get from a dodgy web page.

Would that it was a dodgy web site. I think I was targeted.

Thanks.

What is the actual problem? BIOS viruses are very, very rare as they have to be written for a specific version. In fact, there are only 2 known, and neither is likely to be troubling you. The symptom of the first is that the computer no longer boots at all. The second is specific to computers with Award BIOS and also running Windows with either Jiangmin or Arising antivirus software (both Chinese). See the Wikipedia article for more information.
