ok, i'm going to tentatively close this thread now. It's been buggin me for ages and so many people have said they would have closed it ages ago if they were able to. There hasn't been anything original posted onto this thread for over a hundred posts now, and when it comes down to a new user finding a nice big long anti microsoft thread, reading the first five posts and then replying with "i agree" it all seems a bit pointless and irrelevant.

If anyone desperately wants it opened again then I will, but personally i think its energy ran out months ago.

I was watching one of those Crocodile Hunter programs the other day, the ones with that psycho australian guy, about Komodo Dragons. In it he found this really old dragon who was too weak to move and eat and it was lying there waiting to shuffle of its mortal coil. not sure why this thread reminded me so much of that... just seems to get poked and woken up once a week for no reason when most regulars (including Thymox, who started the whole thing) think it should be left to die in peace....
