Usually I like to have some sort of morale, but this film is so abstruse & absurd that I was happy and entertained even when the hero really gets it in the end...
Well, if you've got 9 hours check out The Human Condition Trilogy starring Tatsuya Nakadai.
He get out of going to the front during the Russo-Japanese War overseeing a mining camp where prisoners of war are brought in. He stands up for their rights, loses his position, gets drafted, kicked around by the brass for being a pacifist and becomes the best soldier in his outfit. Al that in the first 3 -4 hours.
... Logan's Run is a 1976 American science fiction film ... is based on the book ... It depicts a utopian future society on the surface, revealed as a dystopia where the population and the consumption of resources are maintained in equilibrium by killing everyone who reaches the age of 30. ...
I watched The Outrage tonight. A western version of Rashomon starring Paul Newman, Edward G. Robinson, William Shatner, Laurence Harvey, and Clair Bloom.
I have nobody to see the new It ("Stephen King") with; my mom, sister and nephew would freak out if I brought him,,,( 14 ) tho, have not asked him;;; is it good‽
I am a huge fan of pre and post war Japanese Classic Cinema and J-horror.
Anything by Akira Kurosawa or starring Toshiro Mifune is good. I Live In Fear is about a man who survived the atomic attack and has a morbid fear of radiation and nuclear war.
When the Last Sword Is Drawn and The Hidden Blade are great examples of life as a Samurai. The Sword of Doom, starring Tatsuya Nakadai as a sociopathic killer is one of my all time favorites and not to be missed. Also featuring Toshiro Mifune.
Maybe not for everybody, but The Happiness of Us Alone, about a deaf woman who marries a deaf and dumb man and the hardships they endure is a great movie.
As for J-horror, Ichi the Killer, Audition or anything by Takashi Miike is a good bet for a gore fest and all out crazy.
I also will sit through some kool Japanese made movies from the past. I watch all Janus made films when I have the free time .
Two women kill samurai and sell their belongings for a living. While one of them is having an affair with their neighbor, the other woman meets a mysterious samurai wearing a bizarre mask
Also. Good oldy and other stuff of all types is over here.
Edit: I'll also mention that anything made by this dude. Is worth my time watching.
In addition to the 2750+ degreed architects and engineers at http://www.ae911truth.org/ there are thousands of pilots involved in the 9-11 truth movement too. They've made a couple movies like 9-11 Intercepted and several documentaries like this one:
I suggest all the dumb rednecks who believe "duh gubmint" try flying a 757 into the bottom floor of the Pentagon themselves. Microsoft flight simulator works just fine if you have that. The Pentagon sits in a depression in the ground and the "ram" cushion effect from those large wings makes it literally IMPOSSIBLE. That's a scientific fact not an al-Qaeda conspiracy theory.
