Advice for purchase of long lasting Computers and Peripherals

I've been using Computer equipment, Personally and Professionally, literally for Dozens of years.

It should come as no surprise that, in all those years, I've expected Computer equipment to be compatible with usual Human needs.

For example, I might need to keep hydrated, even while I'm actively using a Computer for long periods of time.

But being Human, I have certainly spilled beverages and splashed the Computer equipment.

I have repeatedly tried to contend with the various Manufacturers of Computer equipment, urging them to make changes to their equipment, to establish compatibility, where it did not already exist.

I've suggested such things as fluid troughs within Keyboards, and a built in mechanism for steadying a Monitor in an inverted orientation, to allow fluids to drain.

But when all is said and done, to avoid problems, I just look for the "Dishwasher Safe" logo on any Computer equipment I am considering for purchase.

You may also want to consider personal fluid spillage and wear a close fitting rubber suit, especially when dealing with paint packages. I believe several styles of GIMP suit are available.
