Maybe the message is "you don't need to install Linux, we do it for you", which is not bad in my opinion (at the moment it's not too easy to find Linux pre-installed on computers you buy from store), but if you take it offending I read it's your problem. Maybe you just have some unfinished business with your own Windows operating systems, but don't make a flame war about it with this kind of matters. There is no Microsoft, Windows nor Vista mentioned in the ad, so it seems odd to me you can talk about any of those in the same post.
Maybe you have already poisoned your own brains with anti-Windows venom, so that you are blind to see any other kind of world; you associate Windows and hatred to everything you see. Leave it behind, people who have come this far to ask questions about (for example) installing Linux won't drop it off just because of few bold letters at the bottom of the page.
Don't worry, I don't hate Microsoft.
I just love Linux too much. ^^
Well, ok, maybe I did get poisoned with some "anti-Windows venom" on the net.
I shouldn't have brought up Vista.
I know XP is quite stable and I still use it for games.
I don't think that Microsoft is "evil" (they made PCs accessible to everyone), but I just love the philosophy of FOSS so much that it bothers me to see a "don't install linux" written in big on a linux forum.
I didn't want to start a flame war, and I don't mind if this gets locked.
Personally I think it works quite well as an ad. If I see "DON'T INSTALL LINUX" on a site such as LQ I would immediately think wtf and read the rest of it.
This place has so many cute little IT, linux, server adverts. But on topic: I would really like to see a desktop machine for sell with Linux preinstalled on it, not just server machines. I'm not saying I would buy it but if a fairly large company started doing something that bold, and advertising it, it would be awesome to see the advert.
I was reading an article at linux.com yesterday, and a flash advertisement on the right hand margin cycled through several messages stating something like:
"Our sitess used to go down once a week with Linux, but we haven't had a single instance of downtime due to Windows Server - Companies are switching from Linux to Windows - Find out why"
It's currently showing as one of the ads rotated in this article about slackware:
I'm sure the "get the facts" campaign appeared on here at some point.
TBH, I can't see why it's a problem. If Linux is about choice, we can't start censoring ads because they show an alternative to Linux...
True, system administrators have the right to choose an expensive and insecure OS for a server if they wish--and that's their loss not ours. But if Windows Server does catch on more, the whole internet is doomed since everyone's server will be shut down all the time from Windows viruses--I mean--malware that does spread itself quickly to other PCs.

Servers shouldn't be used for surfing the web and checking email. Web access on a server should just be for downloading system updates, etc. If someone gets viruses on a Windows server b/c of using it like a desktop, they were pretty much asking for it.
