I remember seeing a grave stone somewhere in Scotland which was marked
Quote:
God, she was thin
Possibly a third rate mason used to inscribe it... The missing "E" was on the edge of the stone!

There's also a stone in the Grounds of Kelso Abbey in the Scottish Borders which is marked:
Quote:
Remember me as you pass by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.
Which I gather can also be found elsewhere in the World.

Play Bonny!

Are you familiar with Copernicus's epitaph?

Die Sonne nicht der Erde umgeht
Wie die Gelehrten meinen.
Ein jeder ist sein Wurm's gewiss
Copernicus des seinen!

Someone translated it as:
The sun goes not around the earth
As learned men concluded
But every man must meet his worm,
Copernicus included!
