A Good DIY Site

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good website that has instructions for making your own gadgets. I think it would be interesting and I would learn quite a bit about computers and electronics by doing some DIY projects.

I did see the ad for the upcoming make magazine by O'reilly, but don't have the money for a subscription and the only place within 50 miles of where I live that might carry it is a small Barnes & Noble (they're about 50 miles away too) and they rarely have any good computer magazines there.

In Pocatello more people are worried about their potato farms then anything. Even with a college in town(Idaho State Unversity) that has a Computer Science Program there aren't many computer geeky types here.

It'd be awesome to make your own bomb, too.
