A break from the computer.
Emotional problems, stress, confusion, everything. Everyone has it, we all hate it to our fullest of our ability. It's exactly what's happing to me, and frankly it blows.
I love two women. Each are freaking amazing! They both make me happy, but I'm leaned to one. Maturity wise, they both win. The other wins intelligence, the other wins cooking. One knows her way around a computer, one buys me a computer. One had a harsh life, the other had an easy life. Ffs, They're equal. So I think I need a vacation. No money. No car, nothing. I'm stuck in a bedroom playing with Slackware. I love Linux, been using it since 2005(I'm 17 now) I've been working hard to learn C and C++ so I can write software and maybe get noticed somewhere. I have really nice ideas about encryption, security, intelligence, and fun little apps. It's frustrating knowing what I want to do, and not being able to do it. That's why I registered here at LinuxQuestions. Great community, great people. I think if anywhere can help me, it's here. I come from DeviantART, but there's far too much drama. I'd rather take my vacation here helping newbies where I can. So the question of the day here is: What can I do for my time off? I want to get started on C++(This is my version of a vacation. I love it when I can get something to compile and work right) And I also want to make some money in the process. Working IS my vacation. Any ideas? :D |
First off, welcome to LQ! And I hope you have a great "rest" here. :)
As I'm sure you know, there are thousands of FOSS projects out there just begging for help. If you've got good ideas see if you can maybe assist with the other projects. That would get you on the wagon, and your name out there. You can also be exposed to other code, and extend your C knowledge. Good luck! |

I dunno about you, but my vacation involves playing lots of video games, and you're 17, and I'm 24 ... and I don't have any girlfriends ... says a lot. Anyway, good luck and have a pleasant vacation :) |
There is a wiki for abandoned free software where people can find projects:
