Question 802.11n Connectivity Requirements?

Hi all,

I'm wondering what is needed to setup 802.11n connection between 802.11-enable devices.
I have two computer, both support 802.11n and they're all running Windows XP SP3 with proper drivers set up. I create an ad-hoc (peer to peer) network on one computer then let another connects to but they only operate over 802.11g, so I'm kind of wondering what is additionally needed to make both computer work over 802.11n.

Any help would be appreciated.
Have a nice day,
