3D Animation and Digital Fractal Design Software
Hi Everyone:
I found a video that IMO was amazing and it (the application used) appears to challenge an Artist's skill. Been using GIMP for a while now and that's getting old-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uffTTj2qpso The Artist's page at Deviant Art- http://cpmacd.deviantart.com/gallery/ The Artist mentions a application called "G-Force" I have never heard of it. Have you? I found CAD and Blender here- BTW I haven't used Blender but I did install it. http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...x.htm?page=7,2 Does anyone know; can Blender make these types of designs and produce and perform this type of animation? I found Avidemux or OpenShot Video Editor-- Not sure if I need them:- http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...0,3#Page-Index Any help is appreciated-;) |
Yes, you can use Blender for that, but you will have to spend some time to actually learn Blender (I personally find Blender rather unintuitive, but I haven't tried it with the new UI) and you will need a somewhat powerfull machine to get reasonable render times.
An extra video editor is not necessary, Blender has a good one already inbuilt. |
Thanks for the quick reply TobiSGD-;)

Yes, it should give you somewhat good render times if you don't use too complex scenes. In general you will get better performance with more cores than with higher frequency and if you use the proprietary AMD driver for that videocard it may even be possible to use OpenCL to let the card help with the rendering, but I haven't looked into that.
I would just give it a try and see what you can do. After all Blender is free and there are plenty of tutorials available on the web (including Youtube videos). Have a look here: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Tutorials http://www.blenderguru.com/ http://www.blendernation.com/2013/02...ideotutorials/ Have fun with that! |
Great tutorials TobiSGD! Thanks!
Have fun, LOL I'm going to have a ball learning something new! |
Surf to http://www.blenderartists.org ... and ... hold on to your hats!!
"Fractals?" ... dunno, mebbe can't help ya ... but, "3D Animation?!" Heh... |
Thanks sundialsvcs! ;)

After watching about 5 tutorials I see that this application is very complex.
Don't think I'll learn this over night. For some reason a few of the tutorials were freezing up and upon restarting the tutorials it still continued to occur. Not sure what is going on with that. Blender is indeed challenging and I hope to construct my first animation. That is of course; after I learn all the hot keys and get to know the gui a little better. If your a Blender Developer and your reading this: Thank You very much!-:D |
TobiSGD, if you haven't tried Blender "with the new user-interface," you haven't tried Blender at all.
You will be astounded at the total-difference ... and, although you will be obliged to re-learn most of what you knew before, it will transform your view of the product completely. "Blender is no longer  the lanky pre-teen in braces that she once was." |
