[US_Politics] Atlanta lost Super Bowl because Trump said to throw the game!
According to very reliable Tweeters, the Atlanta Falcons lost the Super Bowl because Vice-President Pence, sitting in the grandstands, placed a secret phone call to Donald Trump, who ordered the team to "throw" the game!
I'm just going to not watch the Super Bowl anymore - the golden age of hilarious commercials are obviously over - been over for a while - I'm better off watching real football (UEFA or English Premier League) or something.
Oooh, you're gonna hate me ... Why don'tcha all just now "go ahead and clickon (go ahead ... I double-dog dare ya ...) "that hyperlink in post #1?"
Well ... even as I dutifully try to dodge the various implements that right now you are quite-righteously flinging in my general direction ... I guess that my purpose, in doing such a completely frivolous thing, actually was very serious:

... to observe that "anything, these days" ... even if it turns out to be a premature April Fool's Day hoax ... "is 'to be believed,™'" and "will be believed at face value," just so long as somehow, in the end, "it will be 'blamed on Donald Trump.™'"
(koff, koff ... ahem™ ...)
Please excuse me ... (I hope, "with a good-natured and mutual-laughing 'why, you <deleted> a*shole'" ) ... for taking a bit of advantage of "professional sports" in my well-intended spoof.
But, let us not entirely lose the point ... which remains, I think, 'something that we all very-much need to think about.' (After all ... how easily were you fooled ...?)

"The things that today face us today," gentlepeople, "are actually much more serious than sports." They also "are even 'much more serious' than nations." Therefore, in the future pursuit of these things, we much be much-less easily dissuaded from our course."
Well, I half expected GAGA to go on a tirade, but she didn't, so now she is catching flack from the other side, so - with fairness to her - she was in a bad position either way.
Anyhow, someone on this forum told me not to take things too seriously - and so I intend to follow that advice .
Dear sundialsvxs
Please take this at it is offered and not as some casual flame. I very much enjoy many of your posts as they are often intelligent and educated and well worded. However I am truly becoming alarmed at your seemingly increased propensity for paranoid conspiracy. In all concern and sincerity I do hope you are neither taking nor lacking in any medicinal side effects or help, respectively. You seriously undermine your credibility with such leaps to conclusions and I think it may well be worth looking into some curable physical problem. I am totally in earnest with this as I would actually celebrate your return or arrival at more cautious conclusions and more respectable posts.

I think you are reading into his posts too seriously... After all did you check the link to the reliable tweeters on his initial post?

I do not understand it, it is just as boring as baseball - and golf.

Way better than American 'football'.

At least it is real 'football' - because well, it is played by kicking a ball around with a 'foot', hence *foot*-ball, and not running around with it in your arms - in that case I would just rather watch rugby - way better anyways.

Handegg-ball play with overweight thugs most of the time - that end up with more brain damage in their lives than a boxer perhaps. Hell, it would be safer to just play rugby anyways, and at least with rugby the action doesn't stop every few seconds.
There are a lot of things the US needs to apologise for, which will never happen actually; because we can do no wrong - and if you disagree with that, we'll overthrow your government!

Thank you.
Likewise: "the reports of my death (or of my near-fatal illnesses) are greatly exaggerated."
Nevertheless: "with my bowler-hat duly extended", I thankyou, sir, for looking after (alas, a bit too anxiously, as it were) the final mortal disposition of my ("alas, too mortal, but not quite yet!") remains ..."
" !!"

Some folks make me explain my jokes. Can't tell if the joke wasn't funny or they don't have a sense of humor.
Tell that to the bleeding hearts at colleges today. I don't know of any comedians these days playing at colleges, like the old days - of course during the old days I was just born or not existent yet. So I never did see George Carlin live at any colleges, just tapes and DVDs - though again, he probably would be run off by all the 'liberals' because of 'muh safe spaces' and 'muh trigger warnings.'
