An award for not being on time and a still unknown price? We have been waiting for it for a long time ya know.

I rather suspect that arm will be a part of the common geeks tabletop at some time. But, I thought that about the Alpha processor.

Sounds like an interesting toy, but it would be more interesting if they were already selling the device. A thing like this is perfect for building custom home automatics...

I don't get it, I thought they have been saying the end of the year for quite some time, so not sure how it's not on time, have they been delayed? It would be interesting to know.

Also an unknown price? Hasn't it been $25 for a Model A (128mb ram 1xUSB no network) and $35 for a Model B (256mb ram 2xUSB 10/100 network) for months if not longer.

I know they have tried for a $25 price point for quite some time, they even put a video up recently of something they tried to do in 2006 with ATMel microprocessors for $25.

Quote from July 25th
Quote:
Following the example of the BBC Micro, we intend to launch both a Model A device (lacking the LAN9512, and with 128MB of RAM) at the $25 price point, and a Model B device (including the LAN9512, and with 256MB of RAM) for a $5-10 additional cost. We remain confident of shipping before the end of 2011.

Can you buy one?

Sorry, I have lived just too long. I have wanted to buy stuff that was supposed to be $X.XX or such. And ends up being $XXXXXX.XX

We will see if the price holds up.

Well this company fills me with more hope than say http://noteslate.com/ for fulfilling it's promises.

They have videos of the pre production models working, one of the founders works for Broadcom as his day job and it uses a Broadcom chip, plus other videos from partners who have had the pre production models look good.

Where as NoteSlate keep posting in bad English that they are a real company and they are working on the device it will be a writable 10" eink tablet for $99, in the mean time all you ever see is 3dMax renderings of a concept.

I know what you mean about hype, fingers crossed then they live up to expectation, if they don't they have kind of alienated all the people who are currently interested like the Arduino and Maker community.
