xfce not looking good on fedora

i've installed fedora 3 on my laptop (1200mhz, 256mb ram) and i installed only xmfs as my desktop manager. i've used xmfs before and when i booted into xmfs, it didn't look the same. like it was just the command shell and a very very primitive desktop with windows not having minimize buttons and stuff. i used the failsafe terminal for my session when i logged in and ran "startxfce4" and that's the only way i can get into the real xfce. what's wrong? how do i put the real xfce as my starting desktop manager?

I don't know what you mean by "xfms", but to run xfce, you can edit your .bash_profile and add the following line,

exec startxfce4

sorry i meant xfce...i get confused a lot. thanks it worked. though i used switchdesktop xfce because apparently fedora didn't recognise xfce as a desktop manager.
