Where do I put Grub? hda (XP) or hdb(FC2)?

Hello,

I've searched the archives for an answer and I can't find it. So here is my question. I am trying to install Fedora Core 2 onto a new HDD. I have Windows XP on the Primary and Linux on the secondary. (they are both 40 gig hard drives). I use the option to automatically partition the hdb drive and I am asked where I want the bootloader to go. (the MBR or the Linux drive). It also asks me which to boot first. (do I select the Linux drive and install the grub on it?) or (do I choose the XP drive and put the grub on the MBR). The problem is that when I choose to make windows primary, after it reboots it only states 'grub' in the upper left corner and hangs. Any help would be appreciated.

Install GRUB on that HDD from witch your are booting from, the one that is set as primary boot device in your BIOS. But you can also install GRUB on the second HDD, where is also your Fedora and change in boot order in BIOS.

I would first unplugg the windows drive and let fedora install without knowing about another HDD and windows. Only after that add windows to the grub menu.

Please read this workaround to make your windows boot, because there is a bug in FC2.
