Using a previous configuration file during a new installation
 

I have been using Linux for many years (from Red Hat 6 or so) but I never installed it myself. I am now running fc15 and intend to install fc17 on a new HDD (that is, not updating). I recall that during installation one has to decide what and how to install by answerring a long list questions. I assume that these answers are stored in some configuration file. So my questions are:
1) where is this file (and how is it called) in fc15 and
2) can such file be transferred and used during the installation
of fc17 so that, I assume, the old answers would be suggested as default?
A pointer to a installation guide/help would be also welcome (tried a search for it without success).

Not really what you envisioned - probably coming from the other end in fact.
Have a read of Kickstart.

Thank you syg00! Reading the Kickstart will take some effort but it looks good. I did find the
config file so that's a start.
Regarding backup - I do backups to Tw external disks, I will not be doing any changes to my current
HDD (so I can go back to it if needed, in case I did not succeed), I am just swapping the HDDs in
my Portege.

As it happens I installed F17 this afternoon - not too many questions to answer. Time zone (click your city on a world map), language, keyboard ... All these would update separate config files, rather than just a "global" file.
Pretty straight forward - you may be worrying overly.
For a single install, a kickstart file would likely be overkill.

As for the backup comment, that's just my signature. I leave it there as too many people don't think about it.
