Up2date problem /var partition full
Up2date problem /var partition full
I have Fedora Core 3, and in the process of doing updates with Up2date on a dialup system, my /Var partition is full. Can I delete any rpm files in the Up2date folder or repackage folders? The repackage folder has over a gigabyte of files. Thanks for any help! |
It should be safe to remove all rpms in /var/cache/up2date (or /var/spool/up2date) to regain space in /var.

From the up2date man page:
/var/spool/repackage The spool directory where rpm/up2date stores rollback rpms. This means you won't be able to back out to old rpms but if its been a while since you installed new rpms its reasonable to suppose you won't need to do that. Therefore it should be safe to remove these. (FYI: None of my servers have files in this directory.) |

I eventually deleted some large files in the repackage folder and completed the update procedure successfully. I am less concerned about the rollback feature. Thanks for all the help!
