Question Uninstalling software not in rpm format

i know that to uninstall a rpm package we do
rpm -e packagename;
But if i installed a software from source( i.e. using configure;make;make install)
how can i uninstall it;
i think deletion is not the right option?

Not too sure about it, but go to the directory from which you compiled the program and execute: make uninstall

I was told that this works, although I haven't tried it myself. So I can't give any guarantees
