Unichrome drivers

Does anyone know if Fedora 8 provides automatic recognition of Unichrome Via/s3g graphics or does it just install a generic driver with no 3D cabilities?
I'm running Suse 10.3 at the moment, but I can't get the OpenChrome drivers to work, so I'm thinking of moving distro.

Thanks,
Tim

You will probably experience similar problems with other distros. I have a laptop with a via/s3 card and have tried several distros (pclinuxos, ubuntu, opensuse, fedora and mandriva). Most of them didn't detect the card properly and the only way I could use Linux, was to revert to the vesa driver which means that there won't be any 3D effects.

I don't believe unichrome has 3D capabilities, as it's an onboard graphic controller. Get and NVidia card with 3D and install the apropriate drivers if you want a better graphic experience.
